Vagabond

In the aftermath of the Battle of Sekigahara, seventeen-year-old Shinmen Takezo and his childhood friend Matahachi Hon'iden struggle to survive in a country torn apart by war. Their encounter with two mysterious women leads them into a violent conflict, forcing both young men to confront the consequences of their choices as their paths begin to diverge.

Following his return to Miyamoto Village, Takezo is captured and forced to confront the fear and brutality that have shaped his life. As the monk Takuan begins to challenge his view of strength, the young swordsman is pushed toward a painful transformation that will define the path ahead.

Four years after his transformation into Miyamoto Musashi, the young swordsman arrives in Kyoto determined to challenge the prestigious Yoshioka School. His reckless pursuit of strength draws him into a series of violent confrontations with its finest fighters, while the lives of those he left behind continue to intersect with his own. As ambition collides with experience, Musashi discovers that becoming invincible demands far more than raw power.

In the aftermath of his confrontation with the Yoshioka School, Musashi sets out on a new journey accompanied by the aspiring young swordsman Jotaro. While old attachments and rivalries continue to shadow him, his search for powerful opponents leads him toward Hozoin Temple, where the warrior monks' mastery of the spear presents a different and dangerous vision of strength.

At Hōzōin Temple, Musashi's relentless search for worthy opponents brings him face to face with the prodigious spearman Inshun. As their confrontation exposes the limits of his brute strength, the young swordsman encounters an unfamiliar adversary: fear itself. The path toward becoming invincible suddenly appears more dangerous than ever.

Shaken by his encounter with Inshun, Musashi survives and retreats from the path of immediate combat. Under the guidance of an unexpected teacher, he begins to rebuild his understanding of technique, fear, and true strength. Meanwhile, Matahachi's search for recognition takes a troubling turn as he travels through Osaka and becomes entangled in the name of Sasaki Kojiro.
