Season 1

Born in medieval Eastern Europe the vampire myth mirrors the unexplained, our darkest fears and social upheaval for centuries.

With its shape-shifting symbolism over millennia, tracing the werewolf myth is a journey from the ancient mindset to a reflection of modern culture.

Amidst fears of unchecked scientific progress, Mary Shelley transforms a nightmare into one of the most enduring horror stories ever.

This is the story of why humankind has believed in demons for centuries, stretching back to the ancient world and the early church, then evolving through the 19th and 20th centuries up to the present day.
