Percy and the Brake Van

Overview

Thomas tells Percy about goods trains on the “Other Railwayd” that don’t use brake vans because their trucks have individual brakes. Percy’s Driver explains that on Sodor, trucks don’t have such brakes, so brake vans are essential. Percy dismisses this, thinking he can handle trucks without one.
