SOULSISTER – Shirma & Matthijs in het voetspoor van Aretha

Overview

In this new series, the duo travels across the United States, visiting locations that played a significant role in the life of Aretha Franklin—Shirma’s greatest source of inspiration. Along the way, parallels emerge between Aretha Franklin’s life story and the experiences that have shaped Shirma, both as an artist and as an individual. Throughout their musical road trip, they not only share the stories behind the music and the enduring influence of soul legend Aretha Franklin, but Shirma and Matthijs also engage in candid conversations about ambition, success, adversity, vulnerability, and the meaning of music at different stages of their lives.
