Zacharias Karaboitis

Biography

Zacharias Karaboitis is a 22-year-old writer from Vancouver, Canada, with a lifelong passion for film, video games, and comics. His fascination with storytelling began in high school, where he received an award for a short horror story and a copy of H. P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu from his English teacher. This early recognition sparked a lasting interest in mythology, magic, horror, and science fiction. After graduating from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and working as a jail guard, Zacharias decided to pursue his passion for writing full-time. He went on to graduate at the top of his class at Vancouver Film School, further developing his skills as a storyteller and filmmaker. Eager to gain hands-on industry experience, he founded his own production company, Ragamuffin Films, alongside his classmates Rafaël Sem Pero and Rheale Letnes. Today, Zacharias continues to hone his craft by writing, producing, and starring in low-budget short films. He remains actively involved in Vancouver’s independent film community, participating in social events, networking with fellow creatives, and attending independent film screenings and presentations.
