David Stanek is a challenger at heart. With each production only increasing in scale, David has built a massive range of stories that cover topics pertaining to the human body and identity, confrontations with mortality, and existential dread. His documentary DYSMORPHIA combines dance and documentary storytelling to unite multiple subjects across gender and racial identities. 8TH GRADE is a short film confronting teenage pregnancy within the post-Roe generation. TATTERS is a puppet film that aims to educate children on topics of death and grief. AM I REALLY BY MYSELF? stands as David's most personal journey into his hometown and its connection to music, dance, and mental anguish.
