Mathieu Lamarche

Biography

Mathieu (Mat) Lamarche is a Canadian filmmaker and actor based in Ottawa, Ontario. Growing up, he always had a love for making movies and roped in friends and siblings to bring his creations to life on the (short-lived) family camcorder. After completing a theatre arts program at Algonquin College, he began his professional career at a small TV studio as host and assistant video editor for an online series. Here he met longtime friend and collaborator, Adam Kirkey. The two have gone on to write and produce independent film projects together, including Greed & Gore; a feature film adapted from their award-winning short film of the same name. Known for his sense of humour and attention to detail, Mat enjoys being involved in every part of the filmmaking process both in front of and behind the camera. His work often leans into the funny, strange, and unexpected, with a style that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Mat continues to develop and contribute to independent film projects, with new stories and collaborations on the horizon.
